Born in Montreal, Quebec, EDNA HINTERMUELLER-BENZIGER graduated from VANIER COLLEGE with a DEC (Diplome en Etudes Collegiales), began her career as a Respiratory Therapist and became a tenured college professor for Vanier College at 23 years old. Ms. Benziger enjoyed teaching clinically and didactically and assisted in pulmonary medicine and anesthesiology research in the McGill University Hospital System during the late 70’s and 80’s. Ms. Benziger continued her studies at McGILL UNIVERSITY and graduated in 1986 with a post-graduate Diploma in College Teaching, majoring in Adult Education, Media (including Photography and Computer Assisted Instruction). For her thesis, Ms. Benziger researched, developed and published one of the first educational software programs with  her professor Emiliano DeLaurentis and his team from “Arrakis Systems, Inc” in Montreal. (Biology 101: Respiration: Prentice Hall Publishers, 1986).

Ms. Benziger moved to NYC in 1987  for a professional development leave of absence from Vanier College and studied Computer Applications Technology at COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY and worked as a Supervisor of Intensive Respiratory Care at COLUMBIA PRESBYTERIAN MEDICAL CENTER.  She also worked Per Diem for the health care agency “ULTRA CARE, Inc ”, covering shifts in many NYC hospitals and gaining more experience in Intensive Care,  trauma / emergency care. Within a year she accepted a Directorship position at LAWRENCE HOSPITAL in Bronxville, NY where she was able to effect many positive changes and institute programs for quality assurance and state-of-the-art technology.  This managerial position led to an opportunity to expand into a new career path when Ms. Benziger was appointed Director of Marketing and Sales for “MEDICAL EXPRESS, Inc”, the hospital’s “for-profit” joint venture.  After a few years of growing this home care business in the early 90’s, Ms. Benziger gave birth to her second child and decided to spend more time at home to raise her young family. She continued to work part time and was hired by one of her clients, the “WARTBURG HOME” in Mt. Vernon, NY to provide Respiratory Care services and preventative home care.

Ms. Benziger’s personal and professional journeys merged paths in 1992 when she had to discern healing  options after a routine Pap Smear resulted in a diagnosis of “pre- cancerous cervical cells” and she adopted  her first  “INTEGRATIVE” approach to healing. Minor surgery combined with her first experience with “ENERGY MEDICINE” proved successful for many years to follow. As a result, Ms. Benziger  became certified as a REIKE MASTER in 2001 and subsequently founded and directed "THE ENDLESS ENERGY CENTER”, a holistic healing facility that served her Bronxville, NY community at the time of the World Trade Center tragedy. The center offered stress and trauma management focused on holistic healing with a team approach, including BIO-ENERGY MEDICINE, REIKE, MASSAGE, YOGA, CHANTING, MEDITATION, PERSONAL TRAINING and NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING. Ms. Benziger also guided retreats to Stowe, Vermont for outdoor activities focused on healing Mind, Body and Spirit.

Ms. Benziger returned to the academic world at the same time in September of 2001 and was granted an honorary MS degree by HOLOS UNIVERSITY GRADUATE SEMINARY founded by world renowned Dr. Norman Shealy. She continued her Doctoral studies in ENERGY MEDICINE and SPIRITUAL HEALING from 2001-2008 while working as an independent distributor for several top American multi-level marketing companies focused on holistic health care.

Establishing a private practice in the NYC area during the early years of INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE proved  very rewarding and Ms. Benziger diversified as a consultant for several leading spas and healing centers specializing in DETOX and Bio-Energy Medicine technologies. (ABUNDALIFE CLINIC, Asbury Park NJ ; CENTER FOR BIOFIELD SCIENCES, Puna India). In 2008,   six months after the passing of her brother and mother three weeks apart, Ms. Benziger was diagnosed with the first of  THREE consecutive intra-ductal  breast cancers within an 18 month period. Most of her immediate family had died of cancer over the years and Ms. Benziger underwent genetic testing and was positive for the BRCA2 gene known to increase the risk for breast, prostate, ovarian, colon cancers and skin cancers.  Her grandmother and aunt had died of breast cancer. Both her father and brother had lost their battles to prostate cancer after serious toxic intervention including chemo and radiation therapies. Her mother had died of colon, cervical and uterine cancers....Her cousin died at 44 years old with metastatic cancer .... She knew in her heart  and soul she had to follow a different Path.  Eight  years later Ms. Benziger is “cancer free” and “holistically healed” and considers herself a  miraculous cancer “transcender” rather than “survivor”. 

Ms. Benziger followed an intense INTEGRATIVE path to heal and chose to face her fears and transcend them with deep faith and courage. Thanks to early detection, she had one minor lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy which proved to be negative.    After consulting with Dr. Norm Shealy and other  professors at Holos University,  Ms. Benziger chose to journey to Brazil  to work with the renowned Spiritual  Medium JOHN of GOD who facilitated  a miraculous healing  with “SPIRITUAL  / PSYCHIC SURGERY” .

Returning home two weeks later after being welcomed as a “Daughter of the Casa” to volunteer as a medium / guide for John of God, Ms. Benziger chose to continue her “NON-TOXIC” and “no fear” approach to healing despite serious  debates  with top breast cancer surgeons and oncologists in NYC.  Because of  her "high risk" genetic history, they all insisted  on double mastectomy, reconstruction, chemo, radiation and  chemical hormonal therapies.....

Since Ms. Benziger had deep faith and was ready  and  graciously received  the most important   "Spiritual"  healing as the first step in her "DETOX" process, she went on to cover all the bases for the physical, emotional and mental aspects of her healing with  an "Integrative " approach.  She aggressively tackled  the physical detox phase of cancer with CHELATION, OZONE and other  IV therapies and worked  closely with  one of the world’s leading homeopaths Vega Rosenberg.  Strict  alkaline diets with supplementation and  other alternative / complementary modalities including , DNA REPROGRAMMING, PAST LIFE THERAPY , TOTAL BIOLOGY  and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) were integrated into  her healing process.

Eventually adopting a “MIND OVER MATTER MEDICINE” approach, following her “Soul’s calling” and honoring her “Sacred Contract” to network  with,  educate and help others, this process has evolved into Ms. Benziger’s current mission and she incorporates this experience and knowledge into her customized and trade marked  method of  practice.

Training and certification  in  HYPERBARIC OXYGEN THERAPY (HBOT) has expanded Ms. Benziger’s consulting practice to refer clients for a variety of conventional as well as “off-label” healing options for her cancer clients as well as for Sports Medicine.  Ms. Benziger helped launch  and market "Hyperbarics of Sun Valley"  several years ago.

Ms. Benziger  has witnessed the  ever increasing  effective and legal use of medicinal marijana , CBD  and Hemp products along with the internationally awarded and patented LIQUID BIOCELL COLLAGEN  which has  been  scientifically researched  and has helped herself, family members, friends and clients and  all  these NON-TOXIC products are available through her website. 

To honor her creative gifts,   Ms. Benziger also  studied and apprenticed in TRADITIONAL CHINESE FENG SHUI as well as  PERMACULTURE DESIGN and has been an avid  organic gardener and landscape designer throughout her lifetime and was raised "off the grid"  by her Austrian "Permaculture Pioneer" parents every summer on a lake in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec.  In 2014, Ms. Benziger founded her "Sacred Space Designs" Company and worked on several urban  residential projects in Montreal  and designed pool, patio and window container gardens for Nature's Cradle  in Eastchester NY.

In  July 2015,  Ms. Benziger was invited to Beijing, China to design her first collections of  "Pearls with Purpose", a beautiful  and functional Energy Jewelry line  created and blessed to balance the Heart  Chakra and raise "seed money"  for her mission.  Ms. Benziger had co-designed  and  hosted jewelry shows over the  years in NY and  also is certified in ECT  (Electro Crystal Therapy).  She launched her "Transcending the PINK Heart Collection"  in Sun Valley, ID at Holli Jewelers  and started her "Mountain Mama on a Mission " tour  in September 2015.  Ms. Benziger  drove over 45 thousand miles  to market her "Pearls with Purpose" to several  mountain town galleries and boutiques  across the country as well as  visited  renowned research centers  such as McGill University Health Center,  Sloan Kettering , Johns Hopkins  and Bastyr University  to discern which  project to support.  In April 2016, TranscendingthePINK.org  was officially aproved as a 501C3 non-profit organization and Ms. Benziger's dream  finally manifested after years of investing her own time, money and energy. 2017 will be the year  to build a solid "foundation" by raising funds in order to support the research at Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center for the "PREVENTION " of breast Cancer  #CurcuminforPrevention.
